Reporting Bugs

When to Report a Bug

Report a bug when something isn't working as expected: errors, crashes, incorrect results, broken UI, or features that don't respond. Even if you find a workaround, reporting the issue helps us improve the platform for everyone.

How to Report

You can report bugs through any of these channels:

  • Feedback widget — Click 'Feedback' in the sidebar, select 'Bug', and describe the issue.
  • Contact form — Use the Help Center contact form with subject 'Bug Report'.
  • Email — Send details to support@scholara.ai.

What to Include

A good bug report helps us reproduce and fix the issue faster. Include the following:

Essential information:

  • Steps to reproduce — What did you do before the bug occurred? Be specific (e.g., 'Clicked Export on a table in the Analysis Chat for review X').
  • Expected behavior — What should have happened?
  • Actual behavior — What happened instead? Include exact error messages.
  • Screenshots or screen recordings — Visual evidence is extremely helpful.
  • Browser and OS — e.g., Chrome 120 on macOS 15, Safari on iOS 18.
  • Review name — Which review were you working on? (Helps us check server logs.)

Common Issues and Quick Fixes

Try these before reporting:

  • Page not loading — Hard refresh with Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows).
  • Stuck screening — Wait 2 minutes, then refresh. Screening tasks auto-recover.
  • Export not downloading — Check your browser's download settings and popup blocker.
  • Login issues — Clear cookies for the site and try again.
  • Slow performance — Check your internet connection and try a different browser.

Bug Fix Timeline

How we prioritize fixes:

  • Critical (data loss, can't log in) — Fixed within 24 hours.
  • Major (feature broken, blocking workflow) — Fixed within 1 week.
  • Minor (visual glitch, non-blocking) — Fixed in next release cycle.
  • Cosmetic (styling, typos) — Batched into periodic updates.

If you're experiencing a critical issue that's blocking your work, include 'URGENT' in your subject line and we'll fast-track the fix.
