Exporting Data & Assets

What You Can Export

Every artifact produced during a review can be exported. That covers everything you generate in the Analysis phase as well as a few outputs from earlier phases:

  • Characteristics of included studies tables
  • Outcome and extraction tables
  • Forest plots and funnel plots
  • Meta-analysis results tables
  • PRISMA flow diagrams
  • Risk of bias summary tables
  • Abstract and full-text screening results (CSV/Excel)
  • Raw extraction data for use in R, Python, or other statistical software

Export buttons appear on each asset card directly in the chat. Some assets also support "Copy to clipboard" for pasting straight into a document or slide.

Table Export Formats

  • Excel (.xlsx) — formatted spreadsheet with headers, ready for analysis or manuscript supplementary files
  • CSV (.csv) — universal format for R, Python, SPSS, Stata, and other statistical software
  • RevMan XML — import directly into Cochrane Review Manager for meta-analysis
  • R script — generated R code to reproduce the analysis and create plots in R
  • Copy to clipboard — paste table data directly into Word, Google Docs, or other editors

Plot Export Formats

  • PNG — high-resolution image suitable for manuscript submission (300+ DPI)
  • Copy to clipboard — paste directly into presentations or documents

How to Export

  2. 2Hover over the asset card to reveal the export menu
  3. 3Click the export icon or dropdown
  4. 4Select your desired format
  5. 5The file downloads automatically

Plan-Based Export Access

Export availability depends on your plan:

  • Starter — CSV export only
  • Pro / Team / Enterprise — all formats (Excel, CSV, TXT, DOCX, PDF, PNG, JSON, R script, RevMan XML)

If an export format isn't available on your current plan, the export option is disabled and an upgrade prompt is shown when you hover or click.

Using Exported Data

In Excel

  • Open the .xlsx file for formatted data with headers
  • Use filters and sorting to explore and clean data
  • Create pivot tables for summary statistics
  • Ready for insertion as supplementary tables in manuscripts

In R or Python

  • Import CSV files for custom statistical analysis
  • Use the generated R scripts as a starting point for further analysis
  • Combine with metafor, meta, or other packages for advanced meta-analysis

In RevMan

  • Import RevMan XML directly into Cochrane Review Manager
  • Study data and outcome measures are pre-formatted
  • Configure meta-analysis settings and generate Cochrane-style forest plots

Data Sharing & Publication

  • Export to Excel or CSV for journal supplementary files
  • Export plots as PNG for manuscript figures
  • Upload extraction data to repositories (OSF, Figshare, Zenodo) for open science compliance
  • Include a data dictionary when sharing — ask the AI to generate one from your tables

Quality Checks Before Export

  • Verify all numbers in tables match the source data — every cell the AI produces links back to the underlying study, so you can spot-check at any time
  • Check axis labels, legends, and units on plots; ask the assistant to relabel if anything is unclear
  • Confirm confidence intervals match what you'd expect from the underlying analysis
  • Test readability at the size you'll publish — what looks fine in the chat may not at single-column print width

Best Practices

  • Export tables as you generate them — they serve as backups of your extraction work
  • Include dates in filenames for version tracking (e.g., "characteristics_2026-03-15.xlsx")
  • Verify numerical data in exported tables against original PDFs before final analysis
  • Export in multiple formats if you plan to use different tools for analysis
  • For publication, check journal requirements for figure format, resolution, and dimensions
  • Cite your review when sharing exported figures or data; consider depositing extraction data in OSF, Figshare, or Zenodo for reproducibility

Every asset generated in the chat is saved to your review and available for export at any time. You can also ask the assistant to regenerate or modify any previous table or plot — "redo the forest plot in grayscale," "add a column for sample size to the characteristics table," etc.
