Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step when logging in. After entering your password, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app. This prevents unauthorized access even if your password is compromised.
To enable two-factor authentication:
Store your backup codes somewhere safe (password manager, printed copy in a secure location). Each backup code can only be used once.
When 2FA is enabled:
To disable 2FA, go to Account > Profile, click 'Disable Two-Factor Authentication', and enter your current 2FA code to confirm. You can re-enable it at any time.
If you've lost your authenticator device, use one of your backup codes to log in. If you've lost both your authenticator and backup codes, contact support@scholara.ai with proof of account ownership to regain access.
