Billing & Invoices

Payment Methods

Scholara accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment processor, Stripe. All payment information is encrypted and never stored on Scholara servers.

To add or update a payment method:

  1. 1Go to Account > Billing tab.
  2. 2Click 'Update Payment Method'.
  3. 3Enter your card details in the secure form.
  4. 4Click Save. The new card will be used for future charges.

Viewing Invoices

All invoices are available on the Billing tab. Each invoice shows the charge amount, date, plan type, and payment status. Click any invoice to download a PDF receipt suitable for expense reports or reimbursement.

Billing Cycle

Subscriptions can be billed monthly or annually (with a discount). Usage limits reset on rolling 1-hour and 24-hour windows — they're not tied to your billing cycle. You'll receive an email receipt after each charge.

Cancelling Your Subscription

To cancel:

  1. 1Go to Account > Billing tab.
  2. 2Click 'Cancel Subscription'.
  3. 3Select a reason (optional) and confirm.
  4. 4Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
  5. 5After cancellation, your account becomes locked: you keep read-only access to your existing reviews, but AI features are unavailable until you start a paid plan.

Cancelling does not delete your reviews or data. You retain read-only access to all existing reviews, but AI features (screening, extraction, exports) are unavailable until you start a paid plan.

Refund Policy

If you're unsatisfied within the first 14 days of a new subscription, contact support@scholara.ai for a full refund. After 14 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we'll retry up to 3 times over 7 days and notify you by email. Update your payment method to avoid service interruption. If all retries fail, your account becomes locked (read-only access to existing reviews; AI features unavailable until you update payment / start a plan).
